England cruise to victory to take a 2-0 lead in the series.

England vs India, Natwest Challenge, Lord's, 5 September

India gain a consolation win but lose the series 2-1.

Lancashire vs Worcestershire, County Championship, New Road, 9-12 September

Lancashire narrowly failed to get a much-needed victory and now need to win convincingly against Gloucestershire to avoid relegation.

England vs Zimbabwe, ICC Champions Trophy group game, Edgbaston, 10-11 September

England cruised to victory in their first group match against an inexperienced Zimbabwe.  The sterner test would be Sri Lanka.

Lancashire vs Gloucestershire, County Championship, Old Trafford, 16-19 September

Lancashire's relegation to Division Two was finally confirmed.

England sealed a place in the semi-finals with a rain-affected win against Sri Lanka.

England vs Australia, ICC Champions Trophy semi-final, Edgbaston, 21 September

England ended their 14-match losing streak by beating their old enemy Australia to progress into the ICC Champions Trophy final for the first time.

England vs West Indies, ICC Champions Trophy final, Edgbaston, 25 September

The West Indies pulled a dramatic win out of the bag when they looked down and out to take the trophy.
