General comments: A new one for our repertoire, suggested by our new graduate. We tried to go in October but unfortunately that coincided with a refurbishment, but we returend at the next opportunity. No idea how long it had been there but the fact that they were doing the place up suggested it had been there a reasonable amount of time.

"The evening began at
Exhibition (sorry...) after an advance party of us decided trying an additional
venue pre Anthologist would enrich the experience. Alas as people then arrived
in dribs and drabs (and additional rounds were bought), we ended
up
staying a touch longer than planned - attracting the deserved ire of spaceman
[this was mainly because of turning up to the agreed venue to find no-one
familiar there as the initial party had buggered off to somewhere else without
saying so]. Good Milson pale ale there... On to Anthologist and
time for one before the main event at Sthan. Was excited to try a new venue, the
decor was suitably bling and enjoyed the long table for everyone. I was at the
end of the table with Mintz, AceVenturi and the pensions crew, and
had a fair job on to keep up with the Cobra rounds further up the table. This
earned me a telling off from Mintz for ordering another one whilst 90% of
the incumbent pint was sat in the glass in front of me.... Food wise the
starter was the highlight for me - Amritsari fish had just the right level of
kick and crunch, and ample flaky fish. The main I thought was so-so. Wasn't
inspired by many options so played it relatively safe with a jalfrezi.
Chicken itself was large pieces which were tender, the jalfrezi sauce was fine.
Unfortunately didn't get any naan at my end of the table so cannot comment!
[That's no good. It was fed back to me that we had plenty of rice left -
it's always hard to judge these things.] Afterwards we went to O'Sheas
with a decent crew still about. A smaller cohort then went to Canal
Street, where half of us entered an empty On Bar only to discover some
logistical issues with the other half of the group entering the
premises...prompting a quick drinking up, which proved to be the end of the
evening. A memorable eve, albeit food for me was at most a 7 out of 10."

"After a long time away from the curry scene, with a few no shows recently, I was looking forward dipping my toe back in and enjoying a nice cold beer and firey curry with faces old and new. Alas, the beer was cold, but the curry left me disappointed especially given the rotten egg... however, the Dosa starter was quality and would recommend to friends and enemies. O'Sheas provided a nice round off to the evening with one final beverage before making my way home."
