A poem by Mayhem referring to the visit to Lal Haweli on Thursday 22nd July 2010:

"Near the end of July the time had come...
For the curry crowd to go have some fun...
The last curry for some time...
There might even be wine...
But still this couldn't tempt some...

At 5.30pm we thought "reet time for the pub"....
We needed a place to be our "beer hub"....
Quick straight down the stairs...
For beers sat on chairs...
But soon we thought "reet time for grub"

Into some taxis we headed in masses...
Leaving our tables full of empty glasess...
The trip had begun...
Some curry was upon...
Earlier curry nights this surely surpasses....

Some thought is this all a big fable..
Yet we were all here gathered at a table...
The starters were fine..
Yes, even the lime...
Best curry night ever?  Wow quite a label...

The starters were gone, our plates nearly empty...
But lots of mains came, naan breads a-plenty...
We were all getting battered...
The record not shattered...
Yet something was missing, quite possibly Henty...

The drinks kept flowing, the chatter had quietened...
All through the night, our belts slowly tightened...
The curry enjoyed...
By all those employed...
Though mine left me feeling quite frightened...

The time had come, the night had come to an end...
It's the end of an era, the end of a trend...
Enough of the duck...
That liked a good f**k...
We all silently promised more curries we'd attend...

The monies were counted, a toast was demanded of spaceman...
If not from him, I'm sure someone else can...
More nights were promised...
But hey, let's be honest...
Its sounds like a bloody good plan..."
